Training Funding Available
For essential Covid-related staff training
A tranche of government funding has been made available to businesses on the island of Ireland to help them meet some of the challenges related to the pandemic. One of the biggest of these challenges is the massive shift in workplace culture which occurred almost a year ago when the UK and Ireland enforced their first lockdowns.

The widespread and sudden adoption of remote working is the greatest threat to GDPR compliance for businesses since the legislation came into force.
- Are you or your colleagues using their own phones or laptops while you work from home?
-
Do you (even occasionally) share these devices with family members?
-
Have you all completed risk assessments for the security of your homes?
-
Are you all fully aware of the risks of ‘phishing?’
It’s easy to see why the sudden change in working habits has caused such a dramatic increase in data protection risk. The risk is very real, will definitely be with us throughout the rest of this year and carries with it the potential for enforcement action from the Information Commissioner’s Office. This could include lengthy investigations, hefty financial penalties and often irreparable reputational damage.
As an approved provider for this government scheme, this funding (up to the value of £2,000 / €2,500), can be used for training through The Briefed Academy.
Our team of Compliance-Specialist Barristers has specially designed remote working training which will ensure you and your staff are fully aware of the risks you face in dealing with personal data at home and give you the tools you require to complete a risk assessment of your home-working – essential for GDPR compliance.
If you wish to submit an application for this funding please fill out the form so a member of our team can assist you further with the terms of reference you will need to successfully apply.
