About this training

Being able to present information clearly in a group setting — whether in a team meeting, at a conference, or in front of clients — is a skill that professionals at every level will need to develop and use. This module provides the foundations: what makes a presentation effective, how to prepare content with purpose, and how to manage the personal challenges that come with presenting to others.

The training covers the full arc of presentation delivery, from the initial planning stage through to managing nerves in the moment. It addresses how to structure content so that it serves the audience rather than the presenter, how to create supporting materials that reinforce rather than distract, and how to approach the physical and emotional demands of standing up and speaking.

Developed by Briefed’s in-house barristers, this module draws on the practical experience of professionals for whom clear, authoritative communication is central to their work. The techniques covered are immediately applicable, regardless of your role or sector.

Frequently asked questions

This training is suitable for anyone who presents information in a professional context, from those who are new to formal presentations to those who present regularly and want to sharpen their approach. It covers the fundamentals that apply across formats — team briefings, client meetings, conferences, and formal talks — and is accessible regardless of sector or seniority.

Presentation anxiety is extremely common, including among experienced professionals. This training dedicates a full lesson to the mental and physical aspects of personal preparation, covering techniques to reduce anxiety before you begin, strategies for managing nerves in the moment, and approaches to emotional regulation that help you present with composure regardless of the pressure you are under. The techniques are practical and evidence-based, not generic reassurance.

Effective presentations achieve their objective — whether that is informing, persuading, or prompting action — by being clearly structured, audience-focused, and appropriately supported with materials. This training covers how to identify your objective before you prepare, how to structure content to serve the audience rather than the presenter, what makes supporting materials an asset rather than a distraction, and how delivery affects whether your message lands. The training addresses both the content and the delivery side of what separates an effective presentation from an ineffective one.
