Our Work / St Mary's Chambers, Nottingham
To implement GDPR training and compliance for all members and staff, in addition to carrying out annual audits to reduce legal risk.
Everyone plays their part
The stark reality of a data breach was highlighted by Briefed at a Bar training meeting a few years ago. The CEO of St. Mary’s Chambers at the time recognised that liability for such an occurrence would not only be costly for their business but potentially catastrophic.
Protecting their organisation required external help. Not only with training and auditing, but convincing each member that data protection was an individual responsibility, not Chambers.
“You’ve got to protect yourself and your little company to protect the organisation as a whole.”
Legal eagles
St Mary's approached Briefed for all-staff GDOR training back in 2015. Already highly regarded for our Practice Management System, St Mary’s Chambers became our first client for this new service.
Other providers and products were considered, but Briefed had a fierce and laser focus on the legal sector that impressed St Mary's.
Help that could relieve much of this burden.
Fully Briefed
An initial audit was conducted and training set up. Briefed then ensured that the programme put in place was actually fit for purpose and provided sufficient protection.
Three annual audits were subsequently conducted with meaningful improvements noted year on year. Accessibility, personal contact and a good deal of hand-holding made a significant difference.
The path to compliance is tricky.
But St. Mary’s has chosen the right route. And they understand that it is something they have to work hard at and own.
Briefed offer all the assistance, expertise and in-depth understanding to ensure they do not feel alone in meeting their GDPR obligations.
That our family is behind theirs.
