Vacancy details
Our client, Deka Chambers, a highly regarded and progressive common law set, is seeking an experienced Fees Manager to lead its fee collection and aged debt function. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this is an excellent opportunity to step into a senior role with real visibility and influence, managing and developing a three-person fees team while shaping best practice across billing and fees operations.
You will take full ownership of the central fees account, oversee and optimise LEX workflows, and work proactively with Members of Chambers to review income performance and aged debt. The role carries significant strategic input, including producing monthly management committee reports, analysing cashflow trends, identifying high-risk areas of work and supporting Heads of Team with annual planning data. Acting as the key point of contact for fee-related matters, you will negotiate confidently, interpret contractual arrangements including CFAs, and ensure robust systems and processes are consistently maintained.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of seven years’ experience in a barristers’ chambers fees role, with a proven track record in effective debt recovery and strong working knowledge of LEX. You will be commercially minded, confident in managing sensitive financial discussions and capable of leading a team in a professional, collaborative manner. This an outstanding opportunity to take the next step in your career within a supportive and ambitious environment.
