Vacancy details
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Practice Manager to join a leading set, heading a high-performing team of barristers.
Reporting to the Senior Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality, value, and diversity of work undertaken by members, while contributing to the strategic development of their practices. You will build strong relationships with barristers and clients, identify and drive business development opportunities, oversee marketing and directory submissions, and ensure members are fully and effectively utilised. In addition, you will mentor junior clerking staff, contribute to team strategy, and embed ED&I principles across all aspects of your work.
As the primary point of contact for clients, you will advise on counsel selection, availability, and fees, manage complex diaries, and allocate work efficiently. You will also take the lead on fee negotiations and business development initiatives.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a clerk to manage and lead their own team within chambers. Candidates should have experience in a similar role (SPM or PM), a proven track record in managing busy practices, strong commercial and client-facing skills, and a proactive, collaborative approach to both team leadership and business development.
