Top Barrister Auctions off More Rare Wine Collection That Was worth Millions

A top London barrister is about to auction off thousands of bottles of rare wine and champagne, five years after selling a section of the collection for around £8.6 million.

Ian Mill KC, who practices at Blackstone Chambers, is an avid wine collector and connoisseur alongside his successful practice in sports and entertainment law.

He made the headlines on websites like Legal Cheek back in 2019, when he listed over 6,000 bottles from his esteemed collection as up for auction, with some cases estimated to hold a value of up to £70,000 per case.

Five years later, he has returned to auction with another host of bottles up for sale.

The wine and spirit merchant, Berry Bros & Rudd, has listed 575 lots under ‘The Cellar of Ian Mill KC’.

From this collection, some of the available bottles have a guide price of around £3,000 to £4,500. The main highlight from Mr Mill’s collection is a Musigny Grand Cru from Domaine Georges Roumier, listed a price ranging from £7,000 to £10,000.

In total, the available collection is worth up to £650,000.

The auction closed on Tuesday at 9pm, with the customers of Mr. Mill undoubtedly thrilled with what might be the beginning of their own luxury wine collection.
