Baby Loss Awareness Week: Time for Action

Raising Awareness, Supporting Compassion

Help us create a kinder, stronger workplace

Briefed: Supporting Businesses with FREE Awareness Training

Baby Loss is a major issue that has a significant impact on people in the workplace and we believe it's time to take action.

With Baby Loss Awareness Week taking place from October 9th – 15th 2024 we want to help organisations and their employees make a difference, by equipping them with the tools needed to address such a challenging issue.

We are immensely proud to partner with leading Law Firm Partner and baby loss campaigner, Keeley Lengthorn, to develop a Workplace Pregnancy Loss Training module that we aim to provide free to over 100 organisations this October, helping them educate their organisations and teams on how to approach this sensitive subject in a compassionate way.

We would love you to take part.

Why is baby loss awareness important to us?

Keeley's Story

Keeley Lengthorn, Head of Public Law Children and Partner at RWK Goodman, has been campaigning for a new bill to be passed which would provide statutory leave for parents who suffer the loss of a child under 24 weeks – known as George’s Law.

This bill was introduced by Angela Crawley MP and last year made its way through Parliament. It was successful at the first reading but, unfortunately, did not go any further. Keeley is now campaigning to have the Parental and Bereavement Act 2018 amended.

This is very personal to Keeley, who has lost three children in the space of three years and believes it’s time for the law to change.

Briefed is proud to partner with Keeley to deliver the Baby Loss Awareness Week: Time for Action initiative.

In the absence of protection at a statutory level, our training is intended to provide organisations with guidance on how to support a colleague and ensure there is a transparent and effective baby loss policy available to employees within all organisations in the UK.

More
"Keeley’s story resonates with me personally and with many other barristers, solicitors, colleagues, and friends. I’m so grateful that we have the opportunity to support Keeley and many others by raising awareness of these issues, discussing how to support colleagues at work, and how the law needs to change.
We are immensely proud to create this initiative and, as a training and education platform, we have the unique ability to reach a vast audience and make Workplace Pregnancy Loss training accessible to everyone. This will undoubtedly contribute to a more supportive and understanding workplace for all
