Equipping chambers leaders with the knowledge to deal with bullying, harassment and complaints effectively, in line with legal and regulatory obligations.

The Independent Review of Bullying and Harassment at the Bar, led by Baroness Harriet Harman KC, and recent updates to the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) have placed renewed focus on the responsibilities of chambers and their leaders to create safe, respectful working environments.

This training bundle brings together three essential modules, equipping chambers leaders with the knowledge and tools to meet their legal and regulatory obligations.

Learn how to identify, prevent, and respond effectively to inappropriate behaviour, implement robust complaints procedures, and ensure compliance with evolving standards of professional conduct.

Course Modules

Created in line with the recommendations set out in the Independent Review of bullying and harassment at the Bar, led by Baroness Harriet Harman KC, this training helps chambers leaders develop a deeper understanding of what constitutes bullying and harassment, and learn how to identify, prevent, and respond to these behaviours.

In light of the changes to the Worker Protection Act 2010 placing additional responsibility on chambers and barristers to protect members and staff from sexual harassment, this module aims to equip senior leaders with the knowledge of what constitutes sexual harassment and the different types of abuse, measures that should be taken to prevent sexual harassment, how to respond to harassment claims and the steps of investigation.

Designed for all members and staff, particularly those involved in the complaints process, this training provides an overview of best practices to implement with regards to your chambers’ complaints handling policies and procedures and how you can improve your chambers’ performance by reflecting on complaints you receive.
