Lamb Chambers is a highly respected set of commercial barristers’ chambers comprising of nearly 50 barristers located in Temple, London. Our barristers specialise in providing their legal services across the areas of commercial, construction, insolvency, international law, property and personal injury.
An opportunity has arisen to recruit a full-time Assistant Practice Manager to join our Practice Management team. The candidate will play a vital support role to members of chambers and the practice managers.
The Role:
Daily duties will be (but are not limited to):
- Assisting with all fixing enquiries for High Court, tribunals and county court matters
- Chasing case papers for hearings in good time
- Liaising with other chambers to exchange skeleton arguments
- Allocation of court hearings for more junior members and bulk bookings from clients
- Taking bookings via telephone and adding to the Lex diary
- Responding to enquiries received in the practice managers email inbox
- Ensure that correspondence and briefs received are logged on to the Lex database
- Obtaining court listings each day
- Printing documents for members of chambers
- Assisting members with setting up remote hearings/conferences
- supporting the more senior members of the practice management team
The Candidate must:
- Be ambitious and demonstrate a positive can-do attitude
- Be well organised
- Be efficient and methodical in their work
- Have strong communication skills
- Know how to prioritise tasks in hand
- Be a team player
Skills and Abilities:
- Confident telephone manner
- Hardworking
- Ability to be polite and compassionate without lacking confidence
- Experience with working on Lex database
- Be able to multitask
Details:
- Job type: Full-time, Permanent
- Salary: competitive
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday (9.00am to 6.00pm – with some flexibility)
- 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Education: A level and above (Preferred)
- Remote working from home once a week upon completion of probationary period.
- Benefits on completion of probationary period include: Bonus and pension scheme.
